Everyday history at the Museo del Campo

The Museo del Campo de Taberno was founded in 1998 to collect and preserve objects used by the region’s ancestors during the two preceding centuries. These include tools, machines and household items. The Museo del Campo is housed in a former school building and displays agricultural equipment, household items and objects from everyday life. It currently contains at least 2,000 objects, most of which were made available for public use by residents of the municipality. For visitors, the former function of the building and the various traces of everyday life in the past come together here in a single collection. The museum, church, paths and park represent different specific themes to explore in Taberno.

The goat experience includes the production of goat cheese using a method practised in Taberno for more than 100 years. As part of the goat experience, visitors are taken to the La Pastora de Taberno cooperative to tour the factory. At La Pastora de Taberno, visitors can buy several varieties of goat cheese. Visitors can also feed goats. The experience therefore ranges from a long-practised production method and an insight into the factory to cheese and animals as specific parts of the visit.
