Islantilla between Atlantic, paths and film festival

Atlantic coast with clear orientation

The Playa de Islantilla lies open on the Atlantic Ocean and offers 1,400 metres of fine white sand. The Atlantic and the long sandy beach shape the maritime character of Playa de Islantilla.

Playa de Islantilla is easy to reach on foot and offers, among other things, boat rental, a yacht club, showers and foot showers, a tourist information office, a cleaning service, a sports area and a children's area. Boat rental and the yacht club are located alongside the showers and foot showers; the tourist information office, cleaning service, sports area and children's area supplement the facilities on the beach.

A 1,400-metre-long pedestrian promenade lies next to Playa de Islantilla and has 16 beach access points. The promenade is therefore also 1,400 metres long, like the sandy beach, and forms part of this neighbouring coastal zone.

Paths between nature and urban greenery

At Parque El Camaleón you will find a zip line, a running course and a 3D nature trail. The zip line and running course are located alongside the 3D nature trail. The park thus combines activity facilities and a connection with nature in one shared destination.

The Sendero Azul Parque de los Cabezos is a circular route of around 3 kilometres with a moderate level of difficulty. The route includes sea views, viewpoints, a lake with a geyser and native vegetation. The approximately 3-kilometre length and moderate difficulty provide the loop with a clear framework for planning the day.

The Sendero Avenida Río Frío is an approximately 2.5-kilometre-long, easy-to-walk linear route with shade, benches and urban vegetation. Its linear course, along with the shade, benches and urban vegetation, creates a different route profile from the circular path through Parque de los Cabezos. At approximately 2.5 kilometres, the route is shorter than the approximately 3-kilometre circular path.

Golf with variable playing routes

The Campo de Golf de Islantilla comprises 27 holes between pine forests and gentle hills overlooking the Atlantic. The facility offers three 9-hole loops that can be combined into three 18-hole courses with different levels of difficulty. Pine forests and gentle hills shape the surroundings of the loops; the view of the Atlantic provides the link to the coastal landscape. The different levels of difficulty give each of the combinable rounds its own sporting profile.

Film under the open sky

The Festival Internacional de Cine Bajo la Luna de Islantilla has existed since 2008; its activities take place in July and August. During two months of open-air screenings, the festival shows feature films and short films produced around the world. July and August form the period of the festival activities, while the screenings combine the open-air format with feature films and short films.

A promenade is dedicated to the most outstanding personalities in the world of film. The promenade adds another film-related point of reference in Islantilla to the festival.
