Culture

The parish church of Cartaojal was built in the 18th century. The Iglesia del Purísimo Corazón de María was established around 1954 from an old chapel or hermitage. Later, two former school buildings were added to both sides of the chapel of the Iglesia del Purísimo Corazón de María; today, these buildings are used as parish halls.
