Los Balcones: Trails, Peaks and Iglesia de Los Balcones

At its eastern end, the Vereda de Chirlata reaches the centre of Los Balcones, where it connects with the Vereda de los Balcones and the Vereda de Chirlata in the municipality of Gor.

Trails

The Cuevas Balcones de Piedad cave accommodation is located at Bácor s/n, 18860 Los Balcones (Granada), Spain. Los Balcones can be reached via the GR-7100 on the access road to Bácor-Olivar.

The trail information therefore extends from the centre of the village into a regionally connected network of paths. The GR Geoparque de Granada included several localities and linked them along a circular route intended for both hiking and mountain biking. The Palacio de los Marqueses de Villalegre is also located in the wider regional surroundings of Los Balcones, a named building in the form of a palace. The Palacio de Peñaflor is likewise located in the wider regional surroundings, also a named building in the form of a palace.

In Los Balcones (Gor), the stone-built chimneys have a truncated-conical shape. Their form blends into the landscape. Local residents restored the Iglesia de Los Balcones through their contributions in order to preserve part of the local identity of Los Balcones. The restored church building was inaugurated during the patronal celebrations in honour of the Virgen de la Milagrosa; the Fiestas de los Balcones in her honour are scheduled for 16 August.
