The Royal Chapel was conceived as the burial place of the Catholic Monarchs and houses the mortal remains of Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabella of Castile. Its crypt contains the royal lead coffins. The Monastery of San Jerónimo has two landscaped cloisters. El Bañuelo is considered one of the oldest, most significant and best-preserved examples in Spain.
