Tózar: Necropolis, gorges and hiking trails
Archaeological heritage
The Conjunto Arqueológico de Tózar is located directly in the centre of Tózar, and the site is integrated into the Ruta del Gollizno hiking trail. This archaeological complex includes a medieval Mozarabic necropolis, silos dating from the 9th century, and the Pileta de la Zorra megalithic dolmen. The necropolis comprises 80 clearly identified graves carved into the rock. Their shapes are anthropomorphic, trough-shaped and rectangular. A defence system with trenches from the Spanish Civil War is also part of the Conjunto Arqueológico de Tózar. The Torre de la Porqueriza can be reached on foot from the Parque Arqueológico de Tózar.
The same archaeological complex therefore brings together evidence from different periods: the medieval necropolis, the 9th-century silos, the megalithic dolmen and the trenches from the Spanish Civil War. The identified grave shapes make up a significant part of the necropolis, while the Torre de la Porqueriza is another destination that can be reached on foot from the Parque Arqueológico.
