The Ronda and Málaga Wine Route runs through Moclinejo in the Province of Málaga. The Fiesta de Viñeros takes place every year on a set date: Moclinejo celebrates it on the second Sunday in September, after the grape harvest has finished. Activities associated with the grape harvest are demonstrated live at the fiesta. These demonstrations include treading grapes, sieving and making raisins. The festival also includes tastings of typical products. Moscatel wine, gazpacho and roscos are offered. The Fiesta de Viñeros is recognised as an event of provincial tourist interest. Moclinejo also hosts an annual Certamen de Verdiales.

Culture and Museums

The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Gracia was built in the 16th century. The church features Mudéjar and Renaissance elements. The Casa Museo Axarquía was built largely from reused demolition materials. It houses between 100 and 150 works of art. The Casa Museo Axarquía in El Valdés honours local tradition and local craftsmanship. The artistic work of Antonio Montañez is also honoured. Picapedreros Park has a play area for children.

Getting There

Moclinejo can be reached by car from Málaga. The journey takes the A-7 and MA-3113. Regular buses run from Málaga to Moclinejo. The service is operated by route 262.
