Valdezorras between Culture, Sport and Rural Paths

Sport, Culture and Community

Valdezorras is considered an example of an established settlement. The Centro Deportivo Valdezorras has an artificial-turf football pitch and a pétanque court. The Centro Cívico Entreparques serves the Valdezorras and El Gordillo neighbourhoods and, due to its proximity, especially the Pino Montano neighbourhood. Workshops, cultural events, exhibitions, neighbourhood celebrations and other activities take place there. In Valdezorras, sporting activities and community cultural life therefore exist side by side in two clearly identified facilities. For visitors who want to explore Andalusia through local places and not only major cultural destinations, this offers a concrete insight into everyday life in the settlement.

Connections and Rural Paths

Another point of orientation is TUSSAM bus route 16, which runs between Valdezorras and Plaza Jerónimo de Córdoba. In addition, the Camino de los Rojas is almost three kilometres long. It provides access to the rural properties and scattered homes in Valdezorras and this urban area. The different functions of the two connections help show that Valdezorras is not purely urban, but rather a mixed settlement area. The almost three kilometres of the Camino de los Rojas give route planning a specific sense of scale without specifying a walking time.

Local History and Religious Life

Vistahermosa was formerly a name used for Valdezorras. The Parroquia Nuestra Señora de las Veredas began as a simple parish in 1968. The same parish organises a Corpus Christi celebration with a Eucharistic procession through the streets of Valdezorras. The name, founding year and procession point to different temporal and public dimensions of the area: a former designation, the beginning of the parish and a religious event in the streets.

Cattle Track and Cycle Path

The route connections are also described specifically. A 576-metre section of the Cañada Real de Poco Aceite cattle track runs through the area affected by P.P. SUP-3 Valdezorras, on the right-hand side of the Carretera de Brenes and on the right-hand side of the main road of the Barriada Valdezorras; it is known as the Vereda de Poco Aceite. The A-8008 lies within the area of this cattle track and runs parallel to the cycle path described there. Anyone interested in landscape structures, named routes and present-day transport corridors can read several layers of local development in these names and routes.

Parque del Olivo and Announced Cabalgata

In the northern district, Parque del Olivo is also included in municipal works to improve the soil of various children's playgrounds. The park is also associated with the Cabalgata de Valdezorras: for 6 January, it was announced in 2020 and 2023 with four floats and a start time of 11:30 a.m.; in 2023, it was scheduled to end on the esplanade of Parque del Olivo. The park is therefore connected both with municipal works and with the planned endpoint of an announced event.
