A building was erected above the spring of the apparition. Water flowed through a vaulted channel and emerged again in the courtyard. Sculptures, paintings and goldsmiths’ works from the 16th to the 19th century span several centuries. The religious side of Villaverde del Río is also reflected in the procession of the Virgen de Aguas Santas. During the procession held on 8 September, stops are made from house to house; the youngest child of each family is carried, and households with a sick person are visited.

There is a specifically described bus connection for the journey: it connects Seville, departing from Macarena, and Cantillana via Brenes and Villaverde del Río. On weekdays, it runs hourly in both directions. The railway station in neighbouring Brenes is approximately 5 km from Villaverde del Río.
