Algeciras: Nature, Culture and Hiking

Algeciras is located in Andalusia, an autonomous community in southern Spain. The Mercado Ingeniero Torroja is also known as the Mercado de Abastos de Algeciras. The rationalist building is a work by Eduardo Torroja Miret. It was built in 1935 according to plans by the architect Manuel Sánchez Arcas. On 25 October 2001, the building was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural. The octagonal building is covered. Its louvred roof dome has a diameter of 47.80 metres.

The Centro de Interpretación Paco de Lucía displays guitars. These include a reissue of the 1975 Felipe Conde guitar. A selection of gold and platinum records is also displayed there.
