Pruna: Castillo del Hierro, Sierra del Tablón and Olive Oil
Castillo del Hierro was built in the 13th century as a defensive structure on the Castilian-Nasrid border.
Culture
Today, the site is protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural and is considered the only monument of Nasrid origin in the province of Seville.
The Iglesia San Antonio Abad is a Baroque church originally dating from the 16th century, with numerous altarpieces, paintings, statues, an altar, and a dome.
The Cristo de la Vera Cruz, from the school of Pedro Roldán, is particularly noteworthy.
On Good Friday, Pruna celebrates the Sermón del Descendimiento de Cristo, a rite with medieval roots that continues to be observed there.
The Fuente de las Lavanderas commemorates the washerwomen with a monument and is located next to the original Pilar.
It was initially used for agricultural purposes and later as a washing place for women.
Mountains and Trails
A hiking trail from Pruna leads through the Sierra del Tablón to El Terril, the highest point in the province of Seville at 1,129 metres.

Molinillo is a waterfall approximately 30 metres high, located about 1.5 kilometres from Pruna, where the water from two streams flows over a rocky ledge; it forms the backdrop for a 16th-century grain mill.
The Fuente del Duque has four basins carved into the stone and is fed by a spring originating in the Sierra del Tablón.
The Ermita del Navazo, also known as the Ermita de La Pura y Limpia, is located four kilometres from Pruna in a landscape retaining its original character near the Sierra del Tablón.
The elevated hermitage offers views over the surrounding sierras and is also considered a place for observing the night sky.
Faith and Olive Oil
The pilgrimage in Pruna takes place annually; between 1940 and 1946, the RomerÃa to Cerro del Navazo, approximately four kilometres from the town centre, was resumed.
During the RomerÃa de la Pura y Limpia, the procession travels to the hermitage; the Virgin rides in a covered carriage drawn by two oxen.
At the Cooperativa Pruna San Antón, the visit includes a detour to centuries-old olive groves, a visit to the olive mill, and an olive oil tasting and sampling.
The extra virgin olive oil with protected designation of origin is produced by simple cold pressing from the LechÃn, Picual, Hojiblanca, Manzanilla, and Verdial varieties.
